How we calculate this

Area = length (ft) × width (ft). Volume = area × depth (in ÷ 12), converted to cubic yards by dividing by 27. We add your waste margin (10% by default) on top, then multiply by density (1.4 tons per cubic yard by default — adjust for the gravel type you're buying) to estimate weight.
